Theodore J "Ted" Andrews, born December 24, 1920 in Wagner Wisconsin. He grew up in Chicago, graduating from Lane Tech HS, Ripon College (chemical engineering) and Rutgers (MBA). Ted served in the US Army from August 1944 to April 1947, earning a Purple Heart, a French Croix De Guerre with Silver Star, and three Bronze Battle Stars. He also met Jean Griffin an army nurse, and they were married in Austria in 1947 before returning home to Ohio. His career included stints at Battelle Memorial Institute, Dennison Hydraulics, and Greer Hydraulics before achieving his dream of owning his own business: Interstate Filter Service. He ran Interstate for 20 years before retiring to Albuquerque, NM where he and Jean enjoyed a life of friends, golf and travel. Following the passing of Jean in January of 2009 (62 years!), he returned to California to live with his son Larry until his passing on May 25, 2012.
