

Thomas E. Blankenship-Ely was born in Columbus, Ohio to William Gordon Ely and Grace Elizabeth. Thomas worked for Villa Angela Nursing Home, of Columbus for 4 years and Farmers Insurance for 12 years, also of Columbus as a skilled Maintenance Technician. He also was co founder of Sherwood Elite Retirement Village and The Court of Grace Alzheimer's Research Facility in Kittanning, Pa. Tom was a Christian, all around Home Improvement Talent (specializing in electrical work), was a Taekwondo Third Degree Black Belt martial artist. His hobbies were working on his own houses, Steelers' FOOT BALL, and socializing with his friends. He is survived by his 3 brothers; Richard Ely (and his wife Deborah) of Centerburg, Dan Ely (and his wife Yunette) of Columbus, and John Ely (and his wife Teri) of Butler, Pa. He additionally leaves behind his 4 nephews, 2 nieces, 6 grand nieces, and his long time friend... Angel Maldonado. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and only son, Jason. Funeral service will be at 12 Noon Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH, where family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service and from 6-8pm on Tuesday.
