Tom is survived by his beloved wife and partner, Vida (Matejic), who he married at the St. Stevan of Dechani Serbian Orthodox Church on July 16, 1983. Together they raised three loving children, Angie (Matt) Hance, Emmy (Doug) Souders and Thomas. Tom was the much-loved Deda of Ethan and Eli Hance, and Samuel, Sophia and Violet Souders. He is also survived by his sisters Phyllis (Dean) Bailey, Jean Poole, and Barbara Wilkie, and their families.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Tom graduated from the Ohio State University and later earned a master's degree from Xavier University. He spent most of his career in bank operations for the Huntington National Bank, where he was part of a team that earned a patent for a Central Check Clearing System.
Tom will be remembered for his open mind, kind heart, and especially for his sense of humor. He loved travel, history and music, but above all he loved spending time with his family. Losing Tom has left a hole in our lives.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, therapists, and other OhioHealth staff that cared for Tom for their skill and compassion.
