Thomas H. Chidester

Thomas Howard Chidester, 92, resident of First Community Village, Upper Arlington, passed away Sunday, July 26. Tom grew up in Grandview Heights, attended Grandview public schools as well as Mercersburg Academy, PA, and University High School. Attended OSU and graduated from Denver University. Thirty-five-year employee of Abbott Laboratories. Life-long member of First Community Church, former deacon and usher and thirty-year participant in VaudVillities. Member of Aladdin Shriners, Scottish Rite, University Lodge FandAM, and PIC-Token Investment Club. A veteran of both the Army and Navy. Preceded in death by parents, LaClaire and Jean Chidester; wife, of fifty-eight years Emily (Roggenkamp) Chidester; brothers, Stanley Hale Chidester and Robert (Gladys) Chidester and sister, Ruth (Ben) Kramer. Survived by sister, Mary (Dr. Charles) Ackley; sons, Paul (Carole) and William; grandchildren, Genevieve, Aliene and Caroline Chidester, and numerous nieces and nephews. A private interment ceremony will take place. Additional public arrangements to be announced on this website once service details have been established at our Northwest Chapel.
