

Thomas E. MacWood, age 54, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 12, 2012. He was born to the late George and Lucile (Hagerty) MacWood on May 31, 1958. Tom was a fun-loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He had an uplifting sense of humor and was always the life of the party. He was an avid Buckeyes fan and loved to cook for his family. Tom worked for AT&T for over 5 years and loved golf. He wrote many articles that were published on the Golf Club Atlas website as well as for golf course architecture magazines. His light hearted presence will be truly missed. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, William and Theresa Dougherty; sister-in-law, Beth Dougherty; and beloved dog, Molly. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela MacWood; children, Audrey (Andrew Comer) MacComer and Ian (Brittany Treadway) MacWood; sisters, Patty (Frank) Alvarez, Nancy (Bob Brandon) MacWood, Joan (Kent) Burgert, Peggy MacWood; brother, Richard MacWood; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Friends may call from 5pm-8pm on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N High St., Worthington. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the St. Peters Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd., Columbus, OH 43235. Father Stephen Virginia, Celebrant.
