Tommy O’Brien, age 38, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on November 17, 2021 and was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus. Tommy is survived by his mother and father Paula and Dan O’Brien; his brother Mike O’Brien (Angie) and sister Katie Kovacs (Joel). He is also survived by his Aunt Debby Arbogast (Mark); Uncle Tom O’Brien (Marianne); Uncle Dan McConn (Linda); Aunt Carol McConn and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was born on June 15, 1983. Despite being differently abled both physically and mentally, his sweet soul brought warmth and love into his family. Tommy spent many years living at The Heinzerling Community where he was cared for with love and compassion. On most weekends he would come home to stay with Mom and Dad and receive visits from his family. Some of his favorite things included his plastic keys, Raffi, chocolate milkshakes, the beach and pool, Wheel of Fortune, the sound of foil, and napping while golf played on the tv in the background. He loved to watch movies with his Mom and enjoy the love of his family. His life was very simple but fulfilled. Tommy was a bright light that reminded us to be thankful for what we had and to be accepting of all people. His purpose was to remind us to be giving and to impact the lives of his community. He always greeted us with a smile, enjoyed simple pleasures, which we often take for granted, and we were honored and privileged to have him in our lives. He will be missed but never forgotten. Special thanks are given to the loving and caring staff at The Heinzerling Community, as well as the many medical physicians and nurses who assisted him over the years. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The Heinzerling Community, 1800 Heinzerling Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43223. A Memorial Service may be held at a later date to be determined. Family memories will be shared whenever we are together. SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be made at www.schoedinger.com.
