

Thomas D. Trapp, age 79, of New Albany and formally of Gahanna passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Tom was born on May 14, 1935 to the late George and Margaret (Doyle) Trapp. He was also preceded in death by sister, Kathleen Martin; and brothers, George and James Trapp. Tom grew up as a son of a carpenter and went on to follow his father's footsteps in the construction business. He was a hard worker all his life and put 100 in everything he did. Tom was a dedicated veteran in the US Army. He was a long time member of the Church of the Resurrection, where he and wife, Margarite were involved in the Young at Heart Group. Tom and Margie were also former members of the Bucks and Does Square Dance Group. They spent many years traveling to square dance conventions and were lifelong dance partners. Tom was a devoted husband, brother and friend and always had a kind word. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margarite Richards-Trapp; sisters, Alice M. Eing, Sara Stone, Rose (Don) Brady, Virginia (Leo) Oestreicher; and brother, Edward Trapp. Tom is survived by 23 nieces and nephews and special niece Patricia (Randy) Metzler, along with nephews through marriage, Christopher Herbst, Gary Richards and wife and Greg Richards and wife. Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 1-3pm at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio, with a prayer service at 2:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10am at Church of the Resurrection, 6300 Dublin Granville Road, New Albany, Ohio; Father Jerome Rodenfels celebrant.
