Timothy C. Ewald, 62, of Columbus, passed away on February 15, 2020. He was born on August 8, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence (Smith) Ewald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Myrtle Weller.
Throughout his career he worked many jobs ranging from working at JC Penny to working at North Community Lutheran Church and the Franklin County Board of Elections. Probably the most significant job was JC Penny as it was there that he met his loving wife of 33 years. One thing that he always had an interest for but due to certain reasons was not able to attain was joining the United States Military.
Timothy had great interest in learning about the military, especially World War II. He could always be found watching the History Channel and he knew everything from the vehicles they used to the type of aircraft. Although he could not be a member of the military, he did what he could to help those who served.
He was a member of Facebook groups that specialized in helping the families of military members who are actively serving as well as helping with veterans suffering from PTSD. Although he was not able to serve he did what he could to serve those who served our country.
In addition to the military, Timothy had great interest in scuba diving. He scuba dived everywhere from as far North as Tobermory Canada and as far South as Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Florida. He also enjoyed photography and would often be found plane watching and photographing airplanes as they came in for landing. Among other things Timothy loved spending time with his two grandchildren and volunteering for the USPS.
Timothy will be greatly missed by his loving wife Deborah Ewald; children, Richard (Theresa) Ewald, Erinn Ewald; siblings, Pamela Johnston, Roy McLarkey, and Diana Fowler; grandchildren, Daniel Ewald and Adeline Ewald.
