He spent two years working at West Virginia University before settling in Columbus, Ohio, where he worked for Abbott Labs before retiring 15 years later. He loved chemistry and enjoyed his work very much. He was an avid reader, often staying up very late reading both Hungarian and English texts on a variety of subjects. During his youth, he enjoyed swimming and judo. In later years, he loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed playing chess throughout his life and always had a fondness for traditional Hungarian food and good wine.
He is survived by his two daughters and their families: Leslie (Himanshu Amin) and their children Alexander (21), Hannah (19), and Julia (16); and Michelle (Mark Woodham) and their son Nicholas (11). He is also survived by his sister, Inke (Bandi Toth), who lives in Hungary with her children Bandi, Attila, and Zita, and grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his adopted Hungarian family in Westerville: Andras and Agnes Vasko and their children Alexandra (25), Viktoria (21), Virag (18), and Andre (14).
