Vernon D. Bailey

Vernon D. Bailey, age 100, passed peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Paramount Senior Living. Vernon was born on May 23, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio to James and Mamie Bailey. He graduated from high school and proudly served his country during WWII US Navy. Vernon then went on to have a career at Fisher Body retiring after 30 years of service. He then managed The Driving Range for 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Preceded in death by his wife, Ozella Cozart Bailey; parents, James and Mamie Bailey; and brother, Oliver Bailey. Survived by his children, Dale Bailey, Annette (Bill) Bailey Hamilton, John (Kim) Bailey and Catherine (William Jr.) Bailey Winston; grandchildren, Terry Hamilton Price, Tiffany Price, Stacie (Tim) Poindexter and Danielle Smith; a host of great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 3-4 pm with funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm at Heart and Hope Funeral Home by Schoedinger, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204.
