

Virgil Allan Moore, age 51, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 3, 2014. He was born June 28, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and served as a central Ohio firefighter for the Columbus Division of Fire for the past 26 years. He was a recipient of the Battalion Chief Accommodation Award for working with Red, White and Boom. He was also a very active volunteer for the Special Olympics. He enjoyed traveling and photography. Virgil was a great man with a loving and giving heart. He will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Steve and Freida Myers; father, Donald Moore; and granddaughter, Jenna Moore. Virgil is survived by his wife, of 20 years, Sharon of Grove City; children, Stephen Moore of Wisconsin, Taylor Bayes of Grove City; Kaylie Bayes of Grove City and Adam Hamrick of Oklahoma; granddaughter, Brynn Moore; grandson, Ryan Hardy; mother, Sylvia Browning; siblings, Steve (Debra) Moore, Charles (Gloria) Moore, Cheryl Stanton, and Sheila (Cecil) Brown; beloved firefighter family; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday at the Grove City United Methodist Church, 2684 Columbus St., Grove City. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
