W. David Dawdy

William David Dawdy, age 80, passed away Friday June 25, 2021. He was born on August 9, 1940, in Highland, IL to William and Vera Florine Dawdy. He graduated from Greenville University and went on to receive an M.D. from University of Illinois. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps before completing his post M.D. training at Ohio State University. He was a pediatrician for 40 years at Associated Pediatrics in Westerville and Columbus, OH, retiring in 2013. Throughout his career, he was active in medical education, serving in various roles at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA). He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice; his children, Michael (Sheri) Dawdy and Cathleen (Mark) Rooks; and his grandchildren, Nathan Dawdy, Bryn (Corey) Franks, Adrian Rooks and Mia Rooks. Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 3, 2021, from 2pm-4pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229, where a Memorial Service will be held at 4pm. Rev.
