

Wallace J. Gallop, of Reynoldsburg, OH, formerly of La Porte, IN went to be with angels March 18. Wally was born December 3, 1919 in Toronto, Canada where his parents had immigrated from Great Britain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Gallop; sister, Kay; father, Cecil Bernard Gallop; mother, May (Plumley) Gallop and his six-week-old twin sister. Wally was an extrovert; he loved being with people and joking with them. He didn't know a stranger. He grew up in River Forest, IL. Wally graduated from Steinmetz High School and began his working career as a butcher at Jewel Grocery in Westfield, IL where his parents lived. The family moved to La Porte, IN when Wally was in his twenties; it was there that Wally and his father secured jobs at Bastien Morley. Wally married Julia Smith on June 30, 1946. He began working at Allis-Chalmers as a draftsman and on weekends at Western Auto. He loved to travel and saw much of the USA. He is survived by daughter, Jamee (Dave) Wolf and son, Craig (Nancy) Gallop; grandchildren, Greg (Melanie) Wolf and Carolyn (Marcus) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Landon and Austin Johnson and Caleb and Mackenzie Wolf. Thank you to all those who befriended Judy and Wally during their last years in La Porte: Donna, Phyllis, Theresa, David, Dorrie, George, and Vickey. No funeral service will be observed.
