

Wanda L. Martin, age 55, fought a courageous battle with breast cancer and died on Monday, February 8, 2010 at The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital. Wanda was born in Columbus, OH to the late Van and Dorothy Pearl Meadows on June 16, 1954. She is preceded in death by her brother Charles Gary Carter. Wanda is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 38 years Charles, daughters, Laura (Philip) Maxwell, Melinda (Allen) Cornett, grandchildren, Connor and Kelsey Mae Maxwell, sisters, Diane (Gene) Breckenridge, Judy (John) Whalen, her brothers and sisters in law, Conrad (Karen) Martin, Marjie (Tom) Harris, Richard (Kim) Martin, and many other nieces, nephews, and many friends. She is a 1972 graduate of Westland High School and a member of Chapel Hill Free Will Baptist Church where she was active with Vacation Bible School and known as the “snack lady.” Wanda has attended the Women of Faith Conference the past 4 years and enjoyed taking trips to see family members throughout the Midwest and southern states. Wanda started her work career as a super baby sitter watching many kids as well as relatives she then worked for Southwestern City Schools as a cook for many years and most recently worked at Sears at Westland Mall selling appliances. Wanda enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling them and cooking for them which was one of her passions. She also enjoyed going to eat at El Vaquero on Riverside Drive and ordering the same meal. Wanda was a beautiful person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Friday February 12, 2010 from 4-7pm at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL 3920 Broadway, Grove City where a funeral service will be held on Saturday February 13, 2010 at 11:00am with Pastor John Beverly officiating.
