

William Anthony "Bill" Hand, age 90, of Columbus, passed away peacefully in Arlington, Virginia. Bill was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 16, 1925 to John and Stella (Ressa) Hand. Bill was a former engineer and owner of Hand's Spring Crest Drapery and Carpet Co. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Bill enjoyed his workshop and was an enthusiastic inventor. He loved old movies, westerns, ice cream, tending to his fish and aquariums. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella Hand; siblings, Patricia Johnson and Geoffrey Hand; and step-son, Dr. Philip Fisher. He will be joined by his loving wife, Phyllis Hand who passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016. Survived children, Denise Lafone, Debra (Richard) Seipel, and Michelle (Chuchi) Hand-Arevalo; step-children, Mary (Kevin) Kirkendall and Dr. William (Maureen) Fisher; step-daughter-in-law, Alisa Fisher; grandchildren, Heather Trafon, Joseph Seipel-Parks, Hilary Lafone, B. Shannon Lafone, Tate Arevalo and Chase Arevalo; step-grandchildren, Noah, Kimmie, Lillie, Elizabeth Gillespie; Michael, Amy, and Mark Fisher; Mary and Kate Fisher; great grandchildren, Henry Seipel-Parks, Stryder Lafone-Demarois, Ryker Lafone, Eli Seipel-Parks, Haiden Trafon, Alexius Lafone, Caspian Lafone, Remy Trafon; and sister, Joan Allen. Family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the HOPE and HEART FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 434 Norton Rd. Columbus, Ohio 43228 with Fr. Leo Connolly celebrant. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
