William Witten Malernee

William W. Malernee, age 92, of Reynoldsburg, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born on January 19, 1924 in Byesville, Ohio to the late Jasper and Bertha Malernee. There are three words to describe the heart of this man: Family, Faith, and Buckeyes. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Timken after 43 years as a machinist. He was a dedicated 50 year volunteer for local hospitals and Wesley Ridge Retirement Community. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Malernee. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marjorie "Dee" Malernee; sister, Wilma Williams; children, Paul (Babe) Malernee and JoEllen (Tom) Slowinski; grandchildren, Jeremy Lawrenson, Jared (Emily) Lawrenson, Shawn Slowinski, Tara (Clay) Beck, Neil (Ashley) Malernee, and Laura (fiancé, Joe Ciamacco) Malernee; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 11 am until 12 pm Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Rd. Reynoldsburg, OH 43068, where the memorial service will begin at 12 noon with reception immediately following. Pastor Jeff Greenway officiating.
