William James Orr

William James Orr, Sr., age 84 of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010. William was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Ross Sr. and Margaret. Also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances, second wife, Ruby, and brother, Ross Jr. At a young age, Bill proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served during WWII. Bill was very funny, out going, and had a great personality. He truly enjoyed making others smile and laugh and was quite good at it. He enjoyed dancing, had a passion for cars, and was very artistic. His fun loving spirit and “one liners” will be missed by all who knew him. Bill is survived by his sons, William Jr., Michael (Sandy), Kenny (Sherry), and Kevin (Jenny); grandchildren, Randy (Jenny), Amy (Paul) Meares, Jason (Alisha), and Nathan; 8 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Anna Marie; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, October 11, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 3-6 P.M. Sunday.
