William E. Scanlon, age 80 of Newark will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 1, 2012 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 66 Granville St, Father Jan Sullivan, Celebrant. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
William was born May 9, 1932 in Newark to the late Daniel and Mary Scanlon. He passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012. William was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. He was retired from Owens-Corning and enjoyed bowling, reading, and fishing. He will be missed by his daughter, Mary Pethtel, Rosella Jane, Daniel Jay, Stella Louise, Chester and Joanna Lou; brothers, James Scanlon and Maurice Thomas, nephew Jack Scanlon; and other extended family members and dear friends.
