William Thomas Walters

William Thomas Walters, age 89, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. He was born in New Straitsville, Ohio, on July 1, 1922, to the late Clarence and Lauella Walters. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Ellen D’Antonio; and siblings, Rob Roy, Mary Catherine, and Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Peggy Walters; children, Judith A. Hebble, Jacqueline M. (Phillip) Zimmerman, and William D. (Susan) Walters; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many close friends. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army, and he retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company. Bill was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Bird Dog Club in Lancaster. A memorial service in his honor will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, where family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
