Woodrow Wilson Adkins, 89, of Columbus, died Thursday, March 24, 2011. He was born February 9, 1922 in Wayne, WV to the late Strother and Blanche Toney Adkins. His employer was North American Rockwell where he was an aircraft mechanic. He attended Eastview United Methodist Church and loved singing gospel music. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, was a man of few words, but a very hard worker. He is preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his wife Betty Jane Sherman Adkins, children Dave (Debbie), Charlene Ailes, Becky (Kevin) King, Will (Heather) and Paul, twelve grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren, brothers George, Asbury and Billy, sisters June and Annajean, companion Carole Hilderbrand. Family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. where a funeral service will be held Monday at 10 AM.
