Obituary of Kathryn Joan Price
Kathryn Joan Price, 82, of Noblesville and formerly of Connersville, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. A Rush County native, “Joan” was born March 6, 1930 to Elmer and Lucy Farmer Kilgore and was a 1948 graduate of New Salem High School in Rush County. On September 12, 1952, she was married in San Diego, California to Harry A. “Hap” Price. “Joan” had been employed as a retail clerk at the former 3D Department Store and had worked as a bank teller, however the majority of her time was spent as a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and visiting family. In her leisure time, she liked playing bingo and tending her flower gardens. “Joan” is survived by her three children and their spouses: Connie D. Foy and Charles of St. Augustine, Florida; Vicki L. Powell and Randy of Carmel; Mark Price and Kathleen of Jacksonville, Florida; her grandchildren: Kimberly Higgins of Orange Park, Florida; Heather Mulkey of Ft. Wayne; Sarah Powell of Westfield; two great-grandchildren: Victoria and Sebastian Higgins; six sisters: Barbara Kent and her husband, Paul of Covington; Carol Jones of Carmel; Mary Oetjen and her husband, Herman; Freda Linville, all of Indianapolis; Martha Jones of Rushville; Judy Sedam of Robison, Illinois; two brothers: Joe Kilgore of Indianapolis; Willis Kilgore and his wife, Kathleen of Rushville; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband who died October 7, 2011, “Joan” was preceded in death by three brothers: Don, Kenny and Phillip Kilgore. Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday where memorial contributions may be made to Indiana University Alzheimer Research. Public graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg, Ohio.
