Robert Jay Sheffy

Robert J. “Bob” Sheffy, 89, died Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Reid Health in Richmond. Bob was born to Mary Sheffy Kleinfelter and John Miller on January 6, 1932 in Lebanon Pennsylvania. Bob enlisted in United States Army on January 10, 1950, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the service Bob was wounded twice-earning two Purple Heart commendations for his dedication and bravery. After his discharge Bob came to Connersville where he met the former Pansy L. Gaddis, they were married on August 4, 1952. He was employed as a technician for the telephone company. Bob was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the local V.F.W. He also held the position of being the past Bingo chairman and Home Trustee at the American Legion. He was avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all that know and love him. Bob is survived by his grandchildren: Robert Sullivan and his fiancée Jacklyn Ellison, Delbert Sullivan and Regina Sullivan, all of Connersville; his great-grandchildren: Jade Sullivan, Dylan Sullivan, both of Connersville, Devan Black of Indianapolis, Cameron Sullivan of Connersville, Dalton Revalee, Danielle Lubbers and her fiancée Jacob Precht of Everton, Megan Gibbs and her fiancée Mike Grizell, of Connersville, and Lewis Gibbs and his wife Takoyama of Connersville; Great Great Grandchildren, Ollie Hurley, Junior Precht, Amelia Jane Precht, Brody Grizell, Keaton Gibbs and Katerina Gibbs; one sister, Doris Wilson of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, one brother Clyde ‘Sonny’ Kleinfelter of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his companion Darlene McQueen of Egypt Hollow; sister in law Nancy Lengle of Connersville; several nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Pansy L. Gaddis Sheffy who died on June 7, 2013, his daughter: Pamela Jane Sullivan who died on July 25, 2016; a brother Landis ‘Junior’ Kleinfelter; two sisters Nancy Walters and Patricia Mortiz. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Reverend Robert E. Lee presiding. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until the service. Military honors will be conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Honor Guard at Dale Cemetery following the funeral service.
