Phyllis "Flip" Ann Smith Tanner

Phyllis “Flip” Tanner, age 64, of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, April, 3, 2012. Funeal services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012, at Horis A. Ward’s Rockdale Chapel at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Don Hardison officiating.

The daughter of Virginia Ann Smith and the late Robert Thomas Smith, she was born in Decatur at Emory Hospital. She was married to the love of her life, Robert ‘Wayne’ Tanner for 47 years. Mrs. Tanner was a graduate of Avondale High School and had a successful career as a Real Estate agent for many years. She had a great love of antiques and an even greater love of animals.

Survivors include, her husband, Robert "Wayne" Tanner of Covington; children Leslie Jill Mayfield of Covington and Robert Glenn Tanner of Covington; mother, Vicky Smith, of Covington; sister, LeeAnn Smith West (Mitch West) of Covington; nephew Jeremy Mitchell West (Michelle West); many nieces and nephews.
