Myrtis was known for her love of sewing, classic westerns, and sweet treats—especially her cherished oatmeal cookies and banana bread. She had a deep affection for animals, particularly her beloved chihuahuas. Her faith was central to her life; she enjoyed attending and volunteering at church and found joy in serving her community.
Family meant everything to Myrtis. She was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren and loved sharing time with her siblings before their passing. A talented home cook, she was famous within the family for her potato salad, a must-have at every gathering. Myrtis also had a spirited side—she loved to dance in her younger years and was rarely seen without a cigarette in hand.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Johnson; her stepdaughter, Angelina Johnson; 26 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Enoch Johnson Jr., her children, Salvator Johnson, Kevin A. Jay, Sheldon Johnson, Frances Johnson, and Victoria Johnson.
Myrtis leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strong family bonds. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
