Our sympathy to your family . Darlene was my  best friend in high school . We were in  4H together; she had the best voice -sang beautiful brown eyes and almost won the contest.  She was fun and exciting  and I 
will miss her.

I will always remember Darlene's ready smile, and all she did to make my childhood a happy one. She was like a big sister to me on the days I spent at Grandma's farm. I loved how Darlene could play a mean ragtime piano, but was always gentle and kind, spending time teaching me the basics. She was always so good to me, and I am so grateful.

My prayers for you Karlene, James, and Micheal and all the rest of the family. I met your mother at Univac in 1965. She was 19 and I was 18 and we just hit it off. We got an apartment and lived togethet for a year. Then your mother and dad got married in August of 1966. I was their maid of honor. When I got married in April she was almost 8 months pregrent with Karlene so she didn't want to be in my wedding. We have kept in touch all these years. We never ran out of things to talk anout. Whem James was starting his business my daughter Kristine and her husband Scott can down from Little Falls to talk to him. Kristine was born in January of 1972 and Michael was born im March of 1972
Both had red hair. I was calling your mother every time Kristine had a something new instead of calling the doctor. Your motherwould always calm me down. She  was the most kind and caring person, she would help you in any way she could. She will be missed by all of us who were lucky enough to have known your mother and had her in our lives. She was a special person and thank you  for sharing your mother over the years

Darlene was such a sweet neighbor, always shared great advice….how we enjoyed witch hazel on Halloween  and she was a fabulous cook We love you Darlene

 It was a pleasure to know Darlene and volunteer with her a few times at Peace Lutheran, over the years. I had the opportunity to visit with her on occasion about our faith and share other ideas. 
 I will be praying for all of you as adjust to life without her... May God give you peace and strength..

Darlene was a wonderful person and friend.  When my husband died both of my daughters lived out of state.  Darlene made sure that I was included at any holiday or function and not feeling lonely.  She will be greatly missed
