Dawn was born on March 22, 1939 in Minneapolis, to parents Harold and Doris (Coffin) Clark. Dawn lived in Oregon with her mother for a short time before returning to Minneapolis. While living with her father, she continued to go to school until she met the love of her life at the age of 18. On November 29, 1957 she was united in marriage to Milan Mathison. To this union three daughters were born, Kathleen Karen, Cindy Louise, and Linda Marie. They made their home in Minneapolis until their move to Blaine in 1975. Dawn made their house a home. She loved decorating and was constantly rearranging furniture. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She would turn on the Christmas music; sing loudly, all while turning the house into a winter wonderland. She wouldn't allow any presents to be opened until everyone sang a few of her favorite classic Christmas songs. She also loved summertime. She looked forward to their annual vacation to Michigan where they would camp for 2 weeks right on the shores of Lake Michigan. Many memories were made there.
Dawn worked several administrative jobs before finally retiring from American Linen at age 64. Upon her retirement, she and Milan would load up the car after Christmas for the warmer climate of Texas for a few months. As much as she enjoyed her time there, she couldn't wait to get back to family. Her heart was filled with so much love for her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She adored and cherished time with her family.
Dawn is survived by her Loving Husband of 61 years, Milan of Blaine; Daughters Kathleen Sanders (Francis) of Anoka, Linda (Todd) Hocum of Alexandria; 8 Grandchildren, 14 Great-grandchildren; Sister, Virginia Karow of Faribault, Brother, Jerry (Judy) Clark of Mesa, AZ, and several Nieces and Nephews.
