Diane Louise (Muirhead) Ovik

Diane Louise (Muirhead) Ovik, a devoted wife, mother, granny, sister, aunt, friend, gifted cross-stitch artist, and lover of life peacefully departed this world on January 18th, 2026. She passed away in her home with family.

Diane was born on November 9, 1949, to Glenn and Esther (Reber) Muirhead in Brainerd, MN. Diane lived in Minneapolis and graduated from Coon Rapids High School. She attended Anoka Community College and graduated with an Associate’s degree.

Diane and her husband, Gregory Ovik, raised their family in Blaine and worked together at the family’s accounting firm. Diane had a love for life that was like no other with a passion for traveling and risk taking. She travelled far to the highlands in Scotland, the pyramids in Egypt, and an amazing trip to the Great Wall and a river cruise in China. She always included the family in daring activities including hot air balloon rides and skydiving on her 60th birthday.

Diane is survived by her husband, Gregory Ovik; daughter, Jill (Dave) Thomas; son-in-law, Tom Newman; granddaughter, Mckenzie; grandson, Camden; brother, Keith (Debra) Muirhead; sister, Beverly Muirhead; sisters-in-law, Carol Grill, Phyllis (Curt) Weiss, Colleen Ruther; brothers-in-law, Mike (Wendy) Ovik, David (Amy) Ovik; and countless nieces and nephews as well as other extended family, all of whom carry her spirit forward.

She was preceded in death by parents, Glenn and Esther Muirhead; in-laws, Philip and Judy Ovik; nephew, Timothy Schraan; daughter, Catherine Newman; and brother-in-law, Michael Grill.

An open house visitation will be held at Gearhart Funeral Home, located at 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN, on February 18, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Diane’s memory will forever remain, and her love, generosity, and sense of humor will continue to be a source of comfort for all of us.
