Age 74, most recently a resident of Foley, MN, and a longtime resident of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away at the Foley Nursing Center on the morning of July 10, 2019, after a nearly 10-year struggle with early-onset dementia. Two of her three children were at her side as she passed from this life into the arms of Jesus and a loving reunion with Roger, her husband of 53 years.
Janet Faye Houle was born March 22, 1945, in St. Paul, MN, to Gene and Faye (Walter) Houle, and was the youngest of their two daughters. Jan graduated from Ramsey High School in 1963, and married her high school sweetheart, Roger Robinson, in 1964. Roger’s military service took them to California and Texas; they returned to Minnesota in 1969, and raised their three children in Coon Rapids.
Janet worked for many years in manufacturing for Control Data, and then for Tekna Seal until her retirement. Her hobbies included crafts, crocheting, spending time with Roger at their property in northern Minnesota, and numerous activities with her grandchildren. Jan was also a woman of faith and attended Oak Park Assembly of God (Coon Rapids) for many years where she taught 4- and 5-year-olds, and then Bethany Bible Church (Big Lake).
Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger, who passed away in 2017, as well as her parents and stepfather, and half-sister, Diana Lynn Parson.
Those left to cherish Janet’s memories include her children, Loralie (Dan) Crabtree of Haverhill, MA; James (Sabrina) Robinson of Zimmerman; and Brenda (Allen) Frounfelter, of Coon Rapids; as well as her sister, Carol (Don) Schroeder of Norwood, MN, and half-brother, Michael (Brenda) Draper and half-sister, Michele (Craig) Smith. Janet is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Matt, Mark (Kanya), Mike, and Mitch (Carlie) Robinson, and Justin, Joshua, and Kaylie Crabtree; 3 great-grandsons Logan, Hayden, and Marlen Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be Monday, July 15, starting at 4 pm, followed by a 6:30 pm celebration of Janet’s life at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Interment will take place Tuesday, July 16, at 1 pm at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (lbda.org).
