Lorna Jean Froemming, age 78, of Coon Rapids, died on December 12, 2022. Lorna, loving wife of Robert Froemming passed away after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her family in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob; four children, Melanie Froemming, Melissa Schmidt, Melinda Aurandt, and Marcene Froemming; one brother, Michael Shepherd, and three grandchildren, Austin Schmidt, Heather Schmidt, and Joshua Aurandt. She was preceded in death by her parents Lorne and Ethel (Leuze) Shepherd, her sister, Linda Dillabaugh, and brothers, Paul Shepherd, Russell Shepherd, and Gerald Shepherd, and sister-in-law, Sharon (Michael) Shepherd.
Lorna was born on February 19, 1944. She lived in the small town of Evans Mills, NY. Lorna met her future husband in the same small town while he was in the Air Force stationed at Fort Drum. Lorna and Bob were married on November 7, 1964, in Evans Mills, NY. They enjoyed fifty-eight wonderful years together. After Robert’s enlistment was complete, they relocated to Minnesota. There they built a life together raising four daughters. They had three grandchildren, and Lorna was devoted to them all. She was the information hub for the family. She made sure everyone was connected. She was excited about her granddaughter’s engagement and all the possibilities that meant for her. Once Robert and Lorna retired they loved to spend their winters in Arizona where the sun always shined in the winter to warm their souls. She loved to bake, travel, play cards and dance. She was very active in her church. Taking on many volunteer roles over the years. Her faith gave her strength as she battled cancer for several years. She lived a life full of family, friends, and love.
Funeral Service for Lorna will be held on December 21, 2022, at King of Glory Lutheran Church 10103 University Avenue NE, Blaine, MN 55434. The public visitation will be 10:00 am to 11:00am. Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
