She was born to Robert & Zabella “Jean” Sletten on February 28, 1947, at Montevideo Hospital. Baptized on May 4, 1947, and confirmed on May 20, 1962, both at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo, MN. She was a 1965 graduate of Montevideo High School.
Lorrie cared deeply about her family and friends and would do anything for them. She had a witty sense of humor and her smile always lit up the room. Her laughter was very contagious, as we all know. The sound of her laugher will never be forgotten and she will remain in our hearts forever.
She had a passion for sewing receiving blankets, scarfs, pajamas, and much more for family, friends, and those in need. Most memorable are the outfits she made for her children while growing up. Her love for the Minnesota Viking kept her screaming and cheering -- in between naps of course. She retired after 25+ years in the mortgage industry as a successful mortgage closer. She loved her job and made good friends along the way.
Lorrie is survived by her daughters Heidi (Mike) Traeger of Andover, MN, and Holly Lea of Monticello, MN; grandchildren Patrick (Ashley) Valentine of Big Lake, MN and Cole and Hannah Traeger of Andover, MN; great grandchildren Gabriel, Jaxson, and Maddox Valentine of Big Lake, MN; brothers William Sletten of Otsego MN, James (Dodi) Sletten of Maple Grove, MN, and many friends and family who all love her very much. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert & Zabella “Jean” Sletten.
