He is preceded in passing by his parents, Herbert and Gertrude Heuer; and brother, Dale Heuer.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Barb Heuer; children, Stephanie Heuer, Eric (Stacy) Heuer; grandchildren, Taylor and Jack Heuer, and Alexis Roppe; step-children, Dean (Lynette), Chad (Lee Ann), Mark (Tina), Fernando; step-grandchildren, Kattrina, Kylie, Megan, Spencer, Torin, Arik; step-great-grandchildren, River, Rowan, and Wren; siblings, Eugene (Cathy) Heuer, and Tammy Heuer; nephew, Chris (Michelle); our beloved Lori; furever friends, Myah, April, Lacy, and Simba; and many other family members and friends.
Roger grew up on a dairy farm in Norwood Young America, MN. He had several years of accordion lessons. He was a member of the Hamburg Hustlers 4H Club and won blue ribbons for his electrical and gardening projects.
He was a 1967 graduate of Central High School in Norwood Young America. He lettered in football and track. In 1971 he graduated from Mankato State University with a business degree.
Roger was a supportive, involved and fun-loving father who cherished his family. He always lit up when talking about his kids and grandkids. His daughter has fond memories of him attending cheerleading events, choir concerts and dance recitals. He looked forward to attending his granddaughter’s dance recitals and baseball games. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids.
He will be remembered as an outdoorsman at heart who loved hunting and fishing. He would talk about memories of early years fishing with his dad and uncle. Hunting and fishing are shared passions with his son and grandson. They enjoyed hunting and fishing trips together.
Roger and his wife Barb enjoyed ballroom and country dance lessons together and belonged to Minnesota West Coast Swing Dance Club. Dancing was a weekly event for several years. They had many travel adventures. Some of those adventures included trips on his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle with their Minnesota Chapter, Gold Wing Club. There were many vacations and travels they enjoyed together. After retirement, winters were spent in Arizona. He loved driving his golf cart and visiting the neighbors in the park. Many close Arizona friends are in their retirement community.
