Shawn Michael Essen

Shawn Michael Essen, 44, of St Paul, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the home of his girlfriend. Born June 23, 1977, he was a lifelong Minnesota resident. He loved to travel, especially to spend time with his family. Music was a big part of Shawn: From his Elvis impression to dancing to Motown, headbanging to Metallica, and always listening to 90’s R&B love songs. He was also a fan of football, car shows, and street racing. Shawn loved to crack jokes and make people laugh, whether you were a dear friend or a stranger at a bus stop. He had a big heart and a kind soul and will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Preceded in death by his mother Cindie, grandfathers Bob & Erv, and uncle Randy. He is survived by his partner Cindy, parents Rick & Deb Essen, grandmothers Dorothy Essen & Marylou Konobeck, sister Tawnya Konobeck & spouse Seven, brothers Joshua Martin & Dustin Worley, 4 nieces & nephews, aunts & uncles, extended family, and many friends. Shawn's Committal Service will take place Friday, October 15th, 2021, at 1:00 pm, at Sunset Cemetery, 2250 St Anthony Blvd NW, Minneapolis, MN. A Celebration of Life will occur in June of 2022.
