During her years of work, she spent many years with the A & P Stores in Queens as a Cashier.
Surviving is her daughter, Deborah Starzec and her husband, Bob; her granddaughter, Diana Starzec; a beloved friend, Laurie Oggeri and her husband, Kenneth; a brother, Eddie Glass; and a cousin, Diana Bongiorno. Also remembering Bertha is Deborah's mother-in-law, Helen Starzec; and brother-in-law, Anthony Starzec. Bertha is predeceased by her brother and sisters - Eleanor, Erna, and Bernie.
Family and friends will gather at the D'Andrea Bros.Funeral Home, Copiague, on Wednesday, January 11th from 2 - 4:30 and 7 - 9:30 p.m. That evening, at 8:00 p.m., the Rev. Thomas McCarthy will officiate at a prayer service. On Thursday, January 12th, interment will take place at 11:00 a.m., in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Queens.
