

Mr. Raber was a native of Brooklyn, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was retired from his career as a photo-engraver; and now was enjoying his time as a devoted family man - a man who adored his family and savored time with his grandchildren. In earlier years, he coached in the Copiague Youth League, lovingly known as "Coach Ray". His children recall his love of taking vacations and playing cards.
He is pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Patricia; his son, Robert; grandchildren, Steven Raber and Joseph Ferriso; his sister, Margaret Smith and brother-in-law, Harry Dietrich. He leaves his sister, Charlotte Dietrich; his children - Sue Brostowski and son-in-law, Mike; James and daughter-in-law, Elissa; Christine Raber and son-in-law, Angelo Felito; Jacqueline Squicciarini and son-in-law, Thomas; Matthew and daughter-in-law, Connie; Henry Jr. and daughter-in-law, Keri; and William and daughter-in-law, Misty. He also survived by his grandchildren - Michael, Charles, Allison, Amanda, Michelle, Angelo, Jake, Tyler, Dylan, Patricia, James, Matthew, Nicole, Rebecca, Jared, Joshua, Henry V, Kalyn, Brandon, Skyler and Chase; and his great-granddaughter, Lucia.
Family and friends will gather at the D'Andrea Bros. Funeral Home, 99 Oak Street, Copiague, on Thursday evening from 7-9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church. Cremation is private.
