

He was born and raised in Woodside, Queens, where he made many lifelong friends. He was a graduate of Queens College and has also served in the National Guard. His longtime career was with the Internal Revenue Service where he enlarged his circle of friends.
As a young man, John became an avid bicyclist, serving as President of the Lindenhurst bicycle club. He loved music, especially classical and 60’s rock, as confirmed by his extensive collection of records and CDs. In addition to the above John enjoyed collecting many things, among his favorites were watches and fountain pens. John and his wife, Eileen, are both very active members of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, where they were also married.
John was pre-deceased by his brother, Daniel Cain, and his nephews, George Cain and Timothy Denehan. Surviving is his beloved wife, Eileen; his step children, Thomas and Dawn Sicurezza; and his grandson, Declan Sicurezza. Also surviving is his sister, Kathryn Chester and his nieces and nephews: Kim Isoldi, Kathy Lombardo, Karen O’Hora, Daniel Cain, Nancy Nee, and Erin Cain along with their spouses, children, and grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by all.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home for visitation on Friday, October 20th from 2:00 - 4:30 and 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 21st at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Copiague. Please note that there is no visitation on Saturday morning before Mass. Please go directly to the church. Interment will follow Pinelawn Memorial Park.
