Lou served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, and he loved to regale stories of his time stationed in Alaska. After his military service ended, he was a banker with Citibank in New York City for 40 years.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara; his daughter, Lori Beloff and son-in-law, Scott; his son, Gary Fernandez and daughter-in-law, Cathleen; and his seven grandsons - James, Scott, Thomas, Joseph, Michael, Anthony and Nicholas.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Monday, May 16th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, May 17th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's R.C. Church in Bay Shore. Following Mass, the committal service, with Military Honors conducted by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard will be offered at 1:00 PM at Calverton National Cemetery.
