Mrs. Giafone was born in Queens, to her late parents, Carmine and Carmen Addeo. She was raised in South Ozone Park, Queens, and graduated from Jamaica Vocational High School. She met her future husband, Edward Giafone at a Community Dance. They married in 1951 and made their home in Jamaica, Queens. In 1956 they bought their home in Copiague, and here is where they raised their family.
Theresa worked in Medical Billing in the years of her career, having worked for both private medical practices and Brunswick Hospital. When she had private time, she enjoyed taking cruises with her husband, playing bingo and spending as much time as possible enjoying her family and grandchildren.
Theresa is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Edward; her sons - John and his wife, Mariam; and Edward and his wife, Janice; and her grandsons - Christopher and his wife, Nicole, Matthew and Andrew.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home for visitation on Friday, January 11th from 2:00-4:30 and 7:00-9:30 p.m. The Catholic Wake Service will be said at 8:00 p.m. by Deacon Mike of Our Lady of the Assumption Church of Copiague. On Saturday, the Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
