Ernest Dewayne Jessup Jr.

Ernest Dewayne Jessup Jr., better known as BJ Jessup, passed away on July 21, 2016. He was born in Ft. Riley, Kansas on June 21, 1941. He married Rita Adams on July 28, 1978. He was a resident of Coppell, Texas for almost 18 years after living around the country as the son of a military member and then being in the Air Force himself. BJ graduated from Kansas State University after he left the Air Force. He worked various jobs in management in the food industry. BJ was passionate about sports, loved to travel and go on cruises with his wife and never missed a dance performance that his granddaughters were in.

Those who knew BJ knew he was loving, hardworking and a family man. He was adored by his family and never failed to tell them how much he loved them. He would do anything he could to help friends and family. He was kind hearted and had a way of making everyone around him feel comfortable. His uplifting presence never went unnoticed. He was a beloved member of the Coppell community, as he was often seen at various events.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rita Jessup and his children Jill Daniels, Michael Jessup, DeAnn Magnussen, Anthony Jessup and stepchildren Benita Weaver and the deceased Keith Adams. He was a brother to Helen Rossen, John Jessup and the deceased Margaret Obenshain. His grandchildren are Meridith Weaver, Madison Weaver, Alyssa Magnussen, Lauryn Magnussen, Brayden Magnussen, Emily Jessup, Will Jessup, Joshua Daniels and Jeremy Daniels.
