Marie Elizabeth Pianelli, daughter of the late Leroy and Margaret Mackerodt, was born on March 3, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York. Her love of learning inspired her to pursue multiple Masters degrees in Education and in English Literature, along with a Certificate in Psychology from the City University of New York, Brooklyn Campus and Hunter College. She was united in holy matrimony at Our Lady Help of Christians, to her late husband, Joseph Bernard Pianelli, on February 8th, 1958 and this union was blessed with her son Joseph Michael Pianelli. Marie’s passion for making a difference in her students’ lives, led to her dedicating 25 years to the pursuit of education and inspiring students in her English classes in Brooklyn. Marie had such a love of life, classical music, theater, art, history museums, passion for learning, and the mysteries of a good book and she has passed this on to her family. They will forever think of her when they work a crossword or gather around the table for a big Italian feast. Her beauty shined beyond just her, it’s carried in all the lives she has touched. She was a beautiful woman inside and out with a contagious smile that lit up the world. She will be forever remembered in our hearts and we're lucky to have a Guardian Angel such as her.
