Max was born on October 19, 1962, the only child of Bobby Catherine and Max Jordan, in Conway, AR. The family moved to Mesquite, TX where Max grew up and attended North Mesquite High School for two years, and graduated from W.T. White High School in Dallas in 1981. Max attended Austin College and played football on the 1981 NAIA Division II National Championship team. After an ankle injury, he transferred to the University of North Texas and graduated in 1985 with a BBA in sales & marketing. He was a proud UNT alumni and a football season ticket holder.
In 1986 he met his wife, Carole, and after a 4 month whirlwind courtship they were married. It was an amazing 35 year marriage that included living in South Carolina, Florida, Kansas, and Oklahoma before eventually returning to the Dallas area in 1994, where they raised their family and spent their life together. Max was the proud father of Max III born in 1989, Jennifer born in 1993, and Alex born in 1996. He was truly a family man. He loved being involved in all of their daily lives and many activities . He was always available to offer them advice or help, and without a second thought, would drop whatever he was doing to help whenever his family needed him.
Max never met a stranger and loved talking to people. It was a great attribute in his chosen career of sales and marketing. He had many hobbies and loved being active. Some of his favorite things to do were going to concerts with Carole, gardening & canning, cooking, bird watching, photography, looking at classic cars, and watching football. Max's favorite thing of all was his weekly tex-mex and margarita dates with his wife. It was their first date in 1986, and last date in 2022. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and never lost faith that this was the Cowboys’ year, even after everyone else had given up.
Max leaves behind his wife and children, extended family, and many friends and co-workers who loved him dearly. We are comforted by our faith that tells us we will all be together again but until then, we will continue his legacy of helping others, dedication to loved ones, and making people laugh.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Max’s memory may be made to DFW Pug Rescue in Dallas. Max and Carole loved their pugs, who were a constant source of joy throughout their life.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.rollingoaksfuneralhome.com for the JORDAN family.
