Rebecca Jean (Ross) Macrini born August 28 1930 in Huntington, West Virginia, was welcomed into heaven by our Lord Jesus Christ on August 16, 2023. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Gennaro Joseph Macrini; her five children Charles Taylor, William Adkins, Jeffrey Macrini, Kimberly Rendon, and Gina Macrini Shanhouse; in addition to 9 grand children and 7 great grandchildren. She also is survived by a few living siblings and many cousins nieces, and nephews.
“Jean”, as everyone knew her, was first and foremost a mother and homemaker. Through the years she worked several places as a Bookkeeper and Office Administrator. In her VERY early years...she worked for Hank Snow with the Grand Ole Opry. Jean was also very involved with the League of Women Voters. She volunteered on many campaigns, etc in those years.
Jean had many hobbies that kept her quite busy. She was quite the artsy person with a wide variety of "specialities", one of which was oil painting. Numerous family members have original masterpieces hanging in their homes. Treasures for SURE! For years Jean was involved with ceramics. She even had her own kiln for the longest time. In addition to traditional ceramic treasures, she used the kiln for her doll making. She was awarded the distinction as a Master Doll Maker thru the Doll Artisian Guild School of Doll Making. She did it ALL where her dolls were concerned. From firing the molds, to making all of the costumes herself, to the delicate painting of the faces. She was especially good at that, having taken several specialized classes. Jean has quite the collection of dolls she has made over the years. She was also into embroidering using her state of the art embroidery/sewing/quilting machine. Can't think of a member of the family that doesn't have a set of towels, pillow cases, or just an embroidery picture, special for them, in a frame. She's a very talented Lady...
Country music was her favorite! As I mentioned earlier, Jean actually worked for Hank Snow for quite a few years. She met many famous Country music old-timers in her days there from Marty Robbins, to Hank Williams Sr., George Jones, Minnie Pearl, Lefty Frizzell...just to name a FEW!
Jean definitely lived life to the fullest. She will surely be missed by so many. Our hearts are full, and empty at the same time.
