Staci Colleen Wood, a humorous and vibrant soul, passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 55 in her home in Flower Mound, Texas. Born on August 28, 1970, in Akron, Ohio, to Arthur and Teresa Knowles, Staci's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and resilience.
Staci attended Springfield High School and furthered her education at the University of Akron. Her career as a mortgage broker was marked by her remarkable ability to overcome challenges, including addiction, while always prioritizing her beloved daughters, Isabella Wood and Gwendolyn Wood.
A night owl by nature, Staci was known for her welcoming spirit, never meeting a stranger. She had a theatrical flair, a warm smile, and hugs that could brighten anyone's day. Her fashionable and fabulous presence was felt by all who knew her, and she was always ready to drop everything to help her daughters.
Staci's personal interests were as colorful as her personality. She enjoyed oil painting, watching movies, cooking, and indulging in true crime stories. Her love for makeup, peanut butter, and spending quality time with her daughters and dog were among her favorite pastimes. She cherished moments of having tea and toast and Breakfast at Tiffany's, and had a special fondness for elephants.
Preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Knowles and Teresa Morris, and her sister, Lorie Schromm, Staci leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She is survived by her daughters, Isabella and Gwendolyn Wood, and her brother, Brody Knowles.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Denton County Friends of the Family at https://dcfof.org, in honor of Staci's generous spirit and dedication to helping others.
