

Cathy was born in South Carolina on March 1, 1949. Her father was a U.S. soldier, and they were able to travel to many places. She met the love of her life, Sid while living in El Paso. They got to travel around the world while Sid was in the army. Their last duty station was Fort Hood where they planted their roots. They enjoyed living in Copperas Cove for a long while before they moved to Gatesville. Cathy was devoted to showing up for her family and sharing her love with everyone around her. She enjoyed shopping, bingo, and her faith. She spent many of her years working in food service and sharing her love of cooking with others. She was deeply involved with her Life Group and often visited church with her family.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Sidney Melvin Land. Her sister Myra (Paul) Daigle-Palmer. Her children Glen Land, Martha (Gerald) Helbing, Cheri (Shane) Sanders, Wesley (Lorianne) Land, Susie Land, Jenny (Dusty) Moore. Her niece whom she helped raise Tammye (Brian) Oates and many other nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren, Geralyn (Greg) Hawkins, Michael Helbing, Justin (Crystal) Mosley, Chad Mosley, Alyssa Sanders, Gaven Sanders, Caitlin Sanders, Brandon Land, Arron Land, Amanda Land, Deonna (Kyle) Hutton, Adam Spencer, Austin (Madison) Spencer, Mason Moore, Kinsley Moore, Ryan Moore, and Reagan Moore. Her great grandchildren Wrangler, Luke, Jayleen, Pyper, Presleigh, Liam, and many more. As well as countless family members and friends.
Cathy was preceded in passing by her father and mother Anthony and Bobbie Daigle. Her sister Toni (Johnnie) Moreno. Her daughter Connie Land.
A celebration of life will be held on May 16th, 2026, at 9:30 AM at the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home located in Copperas Cove, Texas. The service will be officiated by her nephew Brian Oates. Following the service, family and friends can join together at Martha and Gerald’s house to share memories and food.
