

Daniel Jay Duncan Sr, age 67 of Copperas Cove, Texas; passed away on the evening of April 2, 2023. Daniel was born on December 13, 1955 to the late Newburn and Kat Duncan of Polk City, Florida. He attended Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida, where he discovered his love for drawing in art class. He grew up in Polk City, Florida; where he spent a great deal of time with several families who contributed to his mischievousness; the Fussell Family, Combee Family and the Feichtel Family.
In March of 1978, he joined the U.S. Army and he was honorably discharged in July 1986. While stationed at Fort Hood, Texas; he met and married his BESTEST FRIEND, Kathy Bauman. After the military, he worked as a truck driver for Schneider trucking, and the Browse House in Copperas Cove, Texas as a furniture delivery person and buyer. He was also a welcome booth attendant at Copperas Cove High School for 16 years. He loved being around young people, who often referred to him as, "the Texas Ranger dude!" because he always wore a black Stetson cowboy hat. Daniel had a funny little smile that made everyone smile. He was always willing to give a helping hand to others, and was a second father to those who spent time in his home.
The center of Daniel's world was his family, especially his grandchildren. He always put his family first. He loved to draw and spent many hours drawing.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Newburn Duncan, mother Agnes Kathleen (Montgomery) Duncan, son David Duncan and brothers Roland Snow, Michael Duncan, and James Duncan.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly (Kathy) Duncan; son Daniel Jr. of Polk City, Florida; daughter Tammy McGill and Stephanie Duncan of Copperas Cove, Texas; grandchildren, Jeremy (J.J) Sanders, Aerynn (Nene) McGill, Kaydence (K.K) Paul, Rylan (RyRy) Duncan and Sequoia (Coy Bird) Duncan; Brothers, Kenneth Duncan of Palatka, Florida; Chris and Joanna Duncan of Lakeland, Florida; sister, Anita Giester of Polk City, Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial is scheduled for April 20, 2023 at the VFW, 1506 Veterans Ave, Copperas Cove at 6:00 p.m.
