April 7, 1960 – October 10, 2025
Today, we gather to honor the life of Isabel Gonsalves, a woman who brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. Born on April 7, 1960, Isabel dedicated 23 years of her life as a correctional officer before retiring. She was always the happiest person in the room—sharing her kindness, generosity, and laughter with everyone around her. Isabel had a remarkable ability to give unconditionally, always ready to lend a helping hand or brighten someone’s day.
She began a beautiful life with Morris Gonsalves, a man she met from Kingston, Jamaica and together they built a loving family. Isabel was a devoted mother to her two sons, Marcus and Nathan, for whom she went above and beyond every day.
Isabel is survived by her son Nathan and daughter-in-law Rachael Gonsalves, her beloved grandchildren Khloey and Nathan Gonsalves Jr., her sister Dora Murillo, nieces Sara and Patricia Murillo, cousins Jackie Sims, Martha Kirwan, and Vivian Maldonado, and her dear friends Ms. Tonia Alston, Ms. Lois Whitfield and Ms. Angie Lewis—friends who shared countless laughs and memories with her.
In her free time, Isabel found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing bingo, going fishing, and camping—activities that filled her with peace and happiness.
Isabel bravely fought a 22-month battle with cancer, facing each day with incredible strength and resilience. Despite the challenges, her spirit remained unbroken. Her love, warmth, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd at 3pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.
