

Formerly an owner of The Art Cove, she was an artist and crafter, showing her work at craft galleries and events. She was active in church and community, using her crafts to brighten the lives of cancer patients, veterans and nursing home residents. She also fostered orphan kittens for Second Chance Animal Shelter.
An expert seamstress, her special gift was providing infant burial attire for the needy.
Born in Marshall, Texas, to Fred and Earlene Flowers, she married Jimmy Cox in 1960.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, daughter Rene' Hesson and sister Marye Thornby.
She is survived by son Randy and Betsy Cox of Marshall; son Russ and Kristina Cox of Copperas Cove; sister Freida Jackson; grandchildren Heather and Amber Reeder, Chelsea Hesson and Christopher Thurman, Andreana and Anthony Steelman, Allison Cox, Emily Cox and Jeremy Cox; and great-grandchildren Zaine, Brayden, Hailee Beck and Bryce Steelman.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. A funeral service will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by burial at 11 a.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
