Joseph A Lucidi

Joseph was born to Ambrose and Rose Marie Lucidi of Pottstown, PA on October 16, 1950. He grew up with three siblings before leaving for West Point at the age of 17. While at West Point he met the love of his life, Roseann, at a coed mixer and the two married in 1974. The couple traveled the United States and Europe during his military career before settling in Copperas Cove in 1981. Later that same year they welcomed their only child, Jennifer.

Joseph left active duty in the early 90’s but would work as a civilian for the US Army for the rest of his career. Joseph spent his time testing weapons, tanks, and military software until his retirement in 2022. During this time, he went on to earn three additional master’s degrees from The University of Texas Austin.

One of Joseph’s biggest joys in life were his three grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, and Jaxon. His grandkids called him PopPop and will dearly miss his presence in their lives.

Joseph was an avid bookworm, Nascar fan, news junkie, animal lover, star gazer, and loved a good cup of plain black coffee. He wasn’t known for being the most social guy in the room but could talk your ear off if the subject sparked his interest.

Joseph is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Hyslop, Son-in-law, Kevin Hyslop, and Grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, and Jaxon.

Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife, Roseann, his parents, Ambrose and Rose Marie, his sister, Toni Lucidi, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joseph will be deeply missed but we are comforted to know that he has finally been reunited with his beautiful wife, Roseann.

A Visitation for Joseph will be held on Thursday June 5th at 11am immediately followed by the Celebration of Life in the Chapel of Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. Interment will be at 2pm at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas where he will be receiving his Military Honors.
