Keith Russell died on September 19, 2014. He was 52 years old. Keith loved surrounding himself with his family, so holidays were his favorite time of year, when they would all come together. Keith has two children, Lacey and Mason Russell. They were his joy. He would flip his phone open to show their newest pictures to everyone who happened near him at the gatherings. His mother, Carrie Quarles was his nurse and patient all at the same time. They both cared for each other through each of their illnesses, which ultimately took Keith’s life. Keith’s fathers, Robert Russell and his step-father Price Quarles passed before Keith, as well as his grandmothers Anna Mae Doner and Delphia Russell. Keith has four siblings, one, Bobbi Lynn Russell, who had passed in their teenage years, Jackie Ritz, James Quarles, and Kara Law. Keith’s faithful companion who was his rock and love through his last years is Jan Allwein who “Keify” favored calling Jan Russell. Keith loves guitars and had a nice collection of them, but even so, he was always talking about getting that Gibson Les Paul. His children remember him strumming away the night hours as they drifted off to sleep to the sound of his music.
Keith had a very positive attitude, and tried not to let his family know that he was hurting or even the extent of his illness. Every conversation he was “Getting better”. Keith was a simple man with a simple faith. Keith passed away with his family gathered around his bedside watching as pure joy filled his face and a single tear came from his eye, entering into Jesus’s arms. Keith will be dearly missed in this life, but his family knows that he will be strumming away the hours until they all gather together again. Arrangements under the direction of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Copperas Cove, Texas.
