Orlin was born on 30 October 1933 to Harry and Nina Jane Smith of Sechlerville, WI. Orlin attended Hixton public schools and graduated in 1951. Orlin enlisted in the United States Airforce and was detailed to the B52 squadron during the Korean War. While stationed at Dyess AFB in Tye Texas he met and married Mary Frances Moore. They made their home in Wisconsin and Texas. They were married for 63 years until her death in 2021.
Orlin is survived by son, Daryle (Kathy), Suzette, Laura Lee (Coleman), Eugene (Stephanie), and sister Wilva Marshall. Orlin had eight grandchildren, Kyle, Kody, Dylan, Rachel, Colten, Carlee, Jaegar and Lily. He also had five great grandchildren.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Tye, Texas. Donations in memory of Orlin can be made to Trinity Baptist Church Gatesville.
