Steven J.B. Garcia SPC/US Army (Retired) born May 30th, 1966 passed peacefully on October 5, 2021. Steven served 5 years in the US Army as a Combat Medic with 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii for 3 years and AAMED Support BDE at Ft Sam Houston, Texas for 1 year and 9 months. He was reactivated in January 1991 through March of the same year in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Steven’s dedication to service to is country was exemplary and inspiring. His family followed him as he followed his fathers service. His proudest moments was watching his siblings achieve greater ranks and responsibilities. He spent his retirement years making jewelry and selling it online. He loved to collect, buy and sell rare gem stones and rare coins.
A Beloved Son, brother, and proud US Army Veteran is survived by his father Jose B. Garcia (SFC/US Army Retired), mother Ageda Garcia, brothers Joaquin S. Garcia (SFC/US Army Retired) and Jeremy Joseph Garcia (SFC/US Army Retired), Sisters Veronica Cruz and Mary A. Garcia (SFC/US Army Retired) sister in-law Ederlyne De-Dios, brother in-law Angel Cruz MSG(P) US Army, sister in-law Heather Bitsko, nieces and nephews, Desirae Garcia, Kathleen Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Brooklyn Guardado, Joseph A. Garcia, Victoria E. Cruz and Gentry Bitsko.
The viewing for Steven will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, at 211 West Ave B, Copperas Cove, Texas, on 12 October 2021, at 6pm to 8pm.
Steven will have a grave side service, per his wishes, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542 on 13 October 2021 at 10am. All vehicles must wait at the entrance and will be escorted by the cemetery personnel.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held at 1246 Lutheran Church Rd, Copperas Cove, TX 76522, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Dress is casual and relaxed. Food will be served.
